Management
The Management Team is a mixture of virtual world and MMOG industry pioneers, game designers and online digital media veterans. Aroon Tan has been developing browser-based online multiplayer games for over 16 years. Chris Jones has designed MMOG and virtual worlds for international game publishers and media brands, as well as writing and directing award winning media productions for the BBC, Discovery and Disney Channels. Laurent Verrier is the former GM of Digital Media for MTV Networks Asia, and has extensive operational and marketing experience with online campaigns for brands such as Havas Media Communication, Vivendi Universal and JC Decaux. Erwan Mace has built and managed Web and Mobile solutions for multinational corporations such as Alcatel, Akamai, KKR and Vivendi.
Aroon Tan - Managing Director / Co-founder

Aroon Tan has been in the virtual worlds / online games, 3D computer graphics and the animation industry since 1993. He took up his first management role at Virtual Reality Technologies in 1995, building online multiplayer virtual worlds and virtual reality simulations. By 1997, he was appointed Managing Director, and held a concurrent role as CEO of Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) developer Paraworld (APAC) from 2000 to 2001. In 2001 he founded Interactive Digital Dreams (IDD) to establish a platform and gateway for “digitally interactive” enterprises to access Asia Pacific markets. From 2004 to 2007, IDD formed a joint venture with European games developer / producer 10TACLE STUDIOS AG where he took the role of CEO (Asia Pacific). Magma Studios (2005) is his latest company in partnership with award winning writer, producer and director Chris Jones. Magma Studios combines the best of online games, rich media and social networks to create exciting and engaging educational games, non-fiction MMOGs and Virtual World Role Playing Games (VWRPG) for the emerging 3D web, as well as virtual reality installations for museums and other clients with an educational mission. Aroon is also the President of the Games Exchange Alliance, a non-profit organisation involved in expanding the capabilities and infrastructure of Asian game developers and service providers. |
Chris Jones - Creative Director / Co-founder

The co-founder of Magma Studios, Chris is a versatile media creative who has spent the last decade creating online games, apps, animations and documentaries for global media brands. He has designed online games and iOS apps for MTV, Vivendi Universal, The National Geographic Channel, Science Centre Singapore, The Asian Civilisations Museum, Dutch Public Television and the National Heritage Board of Singapore. He has also written, directed and produced award-winning television content for the Discovery Channel, the Disney Channel, NHK Japan and the BBC.
Chris has designed and launched a variety of games, including an MMOG entitled “World of Temasek”, several augmented reality iOS apps including one for the traveling “Terracotta Warriors” exhibition, and is currently wrapping-up development of a ground-breaking social game soon to be launched in partnership with a major global media group. |

Laurent boasts 18 years experience -- 12 in Asia Pacific -- of developing solid expertise in marketing, business development & general management of traditional & digital media corporate & start-up operations. Laurent recently founded one9ninety which has developed its proprietary search engine to help marketers make sense of the social web. It offers online marketing services such as Internet word of mouth measurement & analysis and influencer marketing based on the 1% rule. Counting brands like L’Oreal (Maybelline), Adidas, Lufthansa or LG Electronics among its clients, one9ninety focuses on South East Asia and China. |
Erwan Mace - Non-Executive Board Member

Internet professional and digital technology expert Erwan brings 14 years of executive and senior level experience building and managing Web and Mobile solutions for multinational corporations such as Alcatel, Akamai, KKR and Vivendi as well as for internet success story startups such as Soundbuzz (acquired by Motorola in 2008) and Spray (acquired by Lycos in 2000). Erwan founded Bitsmedia Pte Ltd in April 2009, a Singapore based company specializing in the development of mobile applications (mainly iPhone and iPad apps for the Media and Entertainment industries). Erwan was recently recruited by Google to support their development efforts in the Asian region. Erwan holds a MSc. in Information Systems Engineering and a MA. in Business Management. Erwan's technical expertise, his business and strategic understanding, his international background (worked in France, Germany, Singapore, Indonesia) and regional knowledge (8 years in Asia, trilingual in French, English and Malay-Indonesian) makes him a trustworthy partner for this company. |
